A-Z Challenge 2025

H is for Halifax


One of Canada's oldest cities, Halifax is a fascinating place and I'd love to get back to it and explore it in detail. 
Rich with history and filled with fascinating buildings and locations, the short visit I had there last April just filled me with more desire to make it back, to take more photos and experience it in detail.  A lovely city!

    I vaguely remember visiting Halifax (specifially the Citadel and gardens) in 6th or 7th grade. My paternal grandmother was born in Nova Scotia and we visited our family there.

      It was my first trip there and I loved it. I was there for my niece's wedding and I wish I'd had more time to explore the city. I love the narrow streets, the old buildings and the overall atmosphere. An amazing place and I want to go again!!!

      People were asking if I was disappointed to be shooting in the fog and my reply was along the lines of "Are you kidding me! It's perfect!" I LOVE shooting in fog!!!

  I had a great night last night at Lundy Manor Wineries, attending a Mystery Night, with my niece Tammy and her husband Kevin, Tammy's daughter, my great-niece Paige, and Tammy's friend Hilary.   Lots of fun and I met some great people.  I was "Mayor Gibson", the mayor of a 20's style town, with mobsters, prize fighters, singers and starlets.  It was extremely entertaining and I got right into character, and won the "best actor" of the night award.  LOL

  A-Z Challenge 2025 B is for Bear!  I was in Algonquin Provincial Park in September, 2014 when we were treated to two female black bears, each with two cubs.  They were in a blueberry patch and stocking up for Winter. One of the adults was chill and used to people, but this young mother was raising her first two cubs and she was a good deal more..."nervous".  It did result in some spectacular poses though, although this "stare down" moment was a trifle unnerving!  Note, I am no where NEAR the bear.  This is taken with a powerful telephoto lens and also cropped! The cubs were adorably cute!
