A-Z Challenge 2025

E is for Explosion!!!!

Every year the reenactiment of the Siege of Fort Erie, at Old Fort Erie Ontario, culminates with an pyrotechnic explosion that simulates the real event that ended the siege, during the War of 1812.  They really went ALL OUT for the 2013 event, celebrating the bicentennial of the historical event!  There were other photographers there, so there may be other captures of this even, from a slightly different angle from mine.  I'm VERY PLEASED with this image!

This event is held annually and includes Canadian reenactors posing as British infantry and Canadian Militia, with Indigenous reenactors recreating the role of the Indigenous warriors in the battle, with American reenactors playing the part of the American troops, who'd captured the fort.

This event is staged annually (it ceased during COVID for all the obvious reasons) and it's well worth seeing and experiencing.

    1. Hi Birgit, it was!
As to other blogs, I've followed a bunch of the people you follow and I've visited some other blogs. I'm still plugging away at it. I might socialize my blog on Bluesky. I'm actually getting followers on that social media site and a few on Vero and Mastodon too.

    2. it's surprisingly difficult to follow blogs. Many don't seem to have a "Follow" button, at least not one that I can find.

    3. I copy their blog main area. I go to my blog and there is a spot where it say ,"manage my blogs" I then see all the blogs I follow. On the upper right side just before the list, I click on the icon manage and it come up to want to add a blog to the list. I click on that and then paste the blog there and now I follow them.

    4. Wow, that's quite complicated! I don't understand why there isn't just a "Follow" option on everyone's Blog! I'll try that method.
